WOMEN FOR CHANGE PAKISTAN’S MISSION
- PROMOTE GENDER EQUALITY
To challenge the patriarchal system, negative social values and create a gender equal future for Pakistan, Women for Change Pakistan works from the grassroots to the government and international arenas, supporting mens, women, girls, youth and LGBT community to promote human rights for all.
- BUILD FEMINIST MOVEMENTS
Creating momentum for a violence-free, gender equal and inclusive future, we nurture feminist thinking and leadership, multiply local, national and transnational connections and interactions, cultivate a sense of collective self and mobilize male allies so women and girls can tackle structural and systemic obstacles at all levels and in all arenas.
- EMPOWER MARGINALISED VOICES
We help women and girls acquire knowledge, skills and know-how to access existing rights and services so they can be empowered self-advocates for the changes they desire to see. We create platforms for marginalized voices to be heard, opportunities to exercise agency in political and public processes and decision-making and support mobilized communities to identify obstacles and overcome these with their own ideas and strategies.
- CRAFT FEMINIST POLICIES
We support Pakistan’s policy-makers to craft and effectively implement gender-responsive laws and policies by generating evidence and providing technical assistance. We promote appropriate local, provincial and national laws and policies; monitor compliance with international commitments, and contribute to setting a global feminist change agenda.
- RESPOND TO DISASTERS
We strive to ensure that in disasters, such as earthquakes, floods and COVID-19, women, girls and other marginalized groups are not left behind in response and recovery measures. Informed by evidence from the field and past experiences our Strategic Relief is always carried out in collaboration with local organizations and includes food, hygiene kits and other essentials. Assistance includes medical camps, highlighting the voices and unique challenges of the marginalized so as to improve system responses.
